I hate the sea, it's
just too big and it holds things
that want to eat you
Great, grey, lounging beast
Huge paws poised to swipe small boats
from its twitching hide.
I tried to write a happy one but couldn't. I really don't like the sea!

Hee hee- I have to admit I barely stick my toes in the ocean here where I live in FL. I love to look at, but I'm not going in it! Sometimes we have these little buggers called "sharks" come up near shore, oh, and don't forget the sea lice and man o'war- they're not much fun...
While I don't share the same sentiment, the haiku is great, especially the first.
I love the sea but can still recognise the hugeness and the danger that your haiku reveal.
Love that first one! The way you feel about the sea is how I feel about lakes. Whenever I swam in a lake I felt something was after my toes! I think, for me, it had to do with the difference between swimming in fresh or salt water. I felt pulled down in fresh. :-)
I like the sea--from the shore! Don't like to think what might be down there.
There is definitely danger lurking in those deep seas! I love the sea, but I do stay pretty close to shore!
I like the imagery of the sea as a "great, grey, lounging beast..."
Well done!
