Finished Shawl

I enjoyed making it very much, I hope Dee likes wearing it!

We are off on our jaunt tomorrow barring disgusting accidents. I will see you guys Monday, hopefully with beautifully glamorous pictures of our posh do. What fun!

1. What is heaven?
Heavenly heaven is peace, light, music and reunited loved ones
Heaven on earth is a warm bath and a good merlot, starlight, chocolate almonds, hugging my babies and smelling their hair, oh - and a cup of tea in bed of a morning. That is heavenly.

2. What is older than you?
Anyone or thing over the age of 36. So quite a few things still but less than in previous years :o)

3. Where do you belong?
Wales Always. My heart is there and even though I might live elsewhere in the course of my life, who can say what might happen after all? But Wales will always call me home.

4. Who is no longer a stranger to you?
Funny, I have known some people for years and still do not know them and others you can know by instinct almost immediately. I like that. I like openness in people, it makes it easy to make friends. So I guess the answer to that is - those who have allowed me in and made me welcome.

Stardust - for the second time, yes it is that good.

Never

Aurwen- a Welsh name, it means white gold. Given to me by my father.

Sorry, I have never learned to like anything as far as I know. I either like something or I don't and if I don't then there is no learning otherwise I'm afraid.

Yup.

2. When do your claws come out?
When scared and/or threatened...or sometimes just for the hell of it.

3. Have you ever been in a car accident?
Yes and dashed inconvinient it was too!

4. Who is the last person you held?
Sleepy Lily who zonked out in the car and had to be carried into the house.

5. Describe a time you've gone overboard:

Going overboard is a regular thing for me. I rarely do anything by halves. So this means if it is yarn, spinning, books or people I give my complete attention and focus. That can be scary at times. But hey, who wants luke warm? Not this bunny.

As another tack (no pun intended) I have never fallen off a boat in my entire life.

1. What do you resent?
Mostly, being awake when everyone else is asleep. Knowing that I will spend the day feeling bloodless and awful and will probably have insomnia the coming night too.

2. What is your most recent occupation?
I am a mum, that is a career. Last paid work was as a sheltered housing warden

3. What are you presently wearing?
muslin nightie and fleece robe

4. What presents have you bought?
lots, but they are a secret.

5. Whose presence would you enjoy tonight?
I miss Tom


Another sleepless night and while looking for things with which to entertain myself, I realised that I had missed the Friday fiver. I will move it to Friday later on.

1. What's the last thing you threw away?
Coffee grounds - what a weird question

2. Have you ever been to Paris?
Yup - it is chock full of rude French people...apart from that, it is stunning.

3. What do you stare at?
Stars, candle flames

4. What do you hurry for?
Not much, but the school run is a hassle sometimes :)

5. Friday fill-in: I could have been...

a physiotherapist if it were not for a career's advisor in school who told me I needed a degree in Physics... bad advice...utterly incorrect in fact, but I believed him. Oh well...

1. What makes you feel exposed?
When one's vest rucks up out of one's waistband and leaves two inches of skin for the wind to chill - nasty...very bad for the kidneys, or so my mother has always said.

2. What do you have to force yourself to do?
clean the bins...ewww!

3. Where do you like to spend your time outdoors?
castles, the park, up the mountain.

4. What surprises you?
People.People are weird and are full of surprises.
I will never get used to being jumped out at either. Rose has discovered this lately, I jump sky high every time and she loves it. It is getting annoying but regretably still surprising

Late at night I'm ...still flippin' awake when I know I should be asleep! Arrrrgh!

1. What's your personal hell?
Crowds, that crush of bodies impersonally shoving their way past each other - Oxford Street in December being an excellent example.

2. Do you prefer brightly lit rooms or dim spaces?
I don't mind as long as the light is warm and gentle. Cold light is miserable and flourescent strip lighting would also be in my personal hell along with Max Bygraves on the piped music channel.

3. What's the weather like today?
Cool, grey and cloud filled. A pleasant autumn day

4. Is it easy to be you?
Well, life has its freaky moments, but I am loved and that is all I need.

My heaven is ... starlit, gentle, soft and loving. Chocolate covered almonds and a good merlot is in there too.

Maple and pecan danish whirl

2. How do you like to waste time?
blogging, day dreaming,

3. How would you describe your complexion?
pale but otherwise very clear.

4. What do you hang on to that you should really get rid of?
difficult one that, I'll get back to it :) what ever it is I'm not letting go!

5. What is the last thing that made you hurt?
I trod on a slug last night coming in from the wood pile. I was barefoot too. That made me nauseous - it squelched!
But in general I take darned good care not to hurt myself.

1. Tea or coffee?
Depends on the time of day. First thing, breakfast and elevenses need fresh coffee. All other times require tea. Especially after meals and any other time I need a cup. I am a tea junkie.

2. Do you speak your mind?
If the occasion demands it. I am generally pretty sharp tongued and try to keep that under control.

3. What is your escape?
Reading, writing, poetry, places in my head to visualise - a walled garden or a head land by the sea being my favourites.

4. When is the last time you cried?
Last night actually. I cry often, over an astonishing array of things.

5. What are your bedtime rituals?
Heck, I'm just glad I'm going to bed. Umm. Cocoa or warm milk and honey, brush teeth, read, oblivion and if I'm unlucky, two hours later - insomnia.
Such is life :)

Pretty much what I like.

Right now, it's pretty thin on the ground what ever it is.

Yes, of sorts. I think a lot of things are magical. Smiles that speak volumes, familiarity, love and loving when there is little to love sometimes.
But magic of the Gandalf sort? No, I don't believe in that.

5. What is your favorite subject to write about?
The things I know about. Family, spinning, wondering...

Alabama to Texas baby, yeah!

2. What is out of your reach?
Loads of things. Glasses shelf in my kitchen, pillow cases in my airing cuboard, the back of the fridge. Stars, moon, villanelles

3. Are you more likely to watch a sunset or the sun rise?
Sunrise due to chronic insomnia.

4. What night will you never forget?
Can't remember

5. What's the last thing that made you scream?
Losing a friend...I was a bit upset
