Haven't done this in a while, I don't even know if the connection site is still operating, but I love the idea and so here we are again.

I am not well today so I think felting is off. But then again, who knows...I still have some spinning to do. I finished off the portion of the flame wool and silk blend that I sorted out for plying and now I am on to the heavier weight pure merino in bright orange. If I get the energy I will post up some more pics today.

We had a lovely evening last night when Zoe and J came round for supper. I don't think I have ever eaten so many profiteroles in my life! However, thanks to a cold which jumped on me in the early hours of this morning - on top of at least six weeks broken nights sleep - I have the energy level of a snail. So we are eating soup today and watching every episode of the Clangers ever made.

This was taken one evening at Ffald Y Brenin. There is a lovely wood fire there and Lily and I curled up in front of it. The wood was crackling gently and the scent of the smoke was whispering autumn all through the room. I was so sleepy I nodded off holding her. Nothing like a nice warm cuddly baby to make you feel soporific.

Love is all that saved these two from a terrible retribution after they had broken into my art supplies and raided my green acrylic. They had a great time in the bath afterwards as acrylic peels off in layers. They were like a pair of zombies picking at each other. Ewwww!

Grubby Eden

This was taken on the day out in Blaenavon a couple of months ago. The children had been playing in the dirt around the Irish cottages (behind) and I thought that Eden probably would have fitted right in with the workers brats of the time.
On one hand I hate seeing my kids dirty because I cannot bear to think of what they must have been digging around in to get so mucky and on the other I love to see them dirty because I know they have such fun getting that way.

In the 1830's little Eden would have had another three years of staying at home with Mam and then the likelihood was that she would have been sent to the works to chip iron ore for a penny a day. Thank goodness we live now rather than then.
