Horsing Around

Yes, I know it is the worst pun ever but it will have to do.

Anyway, this is the very latest experiment in ignorance. Never let it be said that piffling things like lack of experience or even basic training prevents me from having a bash at something. So I turn my staggering optimism toward sculpture and modelling.

A friend of mine in the Freemen said "Fancy making a copy of this for me?" This being a horse's head, carved with great skill and patience from Welsh slate. I replied, "Well, I've never done anything like that before - but sure, I'll have a hack."

So I stumbled in where angels fear to tread and made a blank out of kitchen foil and proceeded to cover it with fimo. I found out on the way that when one is modelling clay, one needs very short fingernails, as in non-existent, or else your end up scratching the wretched thing and that bending over a table whilst utterly absorbed in a task is a sure fire way of completely screwing up one's posture without even realising it. How do surgeons manage I wonder?

But here it is, much lighter in weight and a fairly close approximation I'd say.

So I thought I'd boast a little.

On a secondary note may I just ask:
Where the devil did January go? I could have sworn I left it here a moment ago...
